Discover your Strengths

Clifton Strengths Training

People who use their strengths every day are six times as likely to be engaged in their roles and three times as likely to report having an excellent quality of life. When people are able to do what they do best every day, they are more confident and perform better in their roles. Our Clifton Strengths training and coaching utilises the market leading Gallup Clifton Strengths assessment and our experienced Clifton Strengths coaches help employees discover, leverage and enhance their core strengths so they can do more of what they do best.

By understanding and embracing your strengths, you can optimize your potential, achieve your goals more effectively and feel good about doing it. Our strengths programmes not only help you recognize your unique talents but also teach you how to apply them in your daily life. Whether you're aiming for personal growth, career advancement, or improved team dynamics, our Clifton Strengths Coaching equips you with the knowledge and strategies to succeed.

Strengths development is based on a philosophy that we should spend more time focused on what people can do rather than what they can’t do. This approach is backed up by decades of research into positive psychology that shows that focusing on what is going well works to enhance well-being and human flourishing. Despite the evidence supporting this approach, many managers still take a punitive approach to leading others, focusing most of their energy on what is wrong with people. We aim to change that and to spread the principle of strengths-based leadership throughout organisations.

FAQs

  • The Clifton Strengths assessment is a tool designed to identify your top strengths. It helps you understand what you naturally do best and how to apply these strengths effectively.

  • If you are just starting out on this journey and you are an individual contributor the top 5 report is a great place to start. If you manage others we recommend you get the top 10 management report or the full 34 complete report. As a manager you need to learn to appreciate all 34 strengths, this begins with understanding the themes within yourself.

  • A ‘theme’ is a term we use to describe each strength. A theme consists of a grouping of different behaviours. Within your top strengths you may identify with some of the behaviours within your theme and not with others.

  • A talent is a naturally occurring pattern of thoughts, feelings and behaviours. We all have talent. A strength is the productive application of talent. Turning talent into strengths takes awareness, knowledge, skills and investment.

  • Broadly speaking you will have 8-10 strengths that are easy for you to access and apply. These are your natural talents and should be where you spend most of your time and energy. After this you have a set of strengths which are less natural to you but that you can still leverage occasionally. At the bottom of your report you have your lesser strengths, these are things that may seem unnatural and weird to you. People often assume these are the weaknesses but that is not always true. Just because you can’t do something, that doesn’t necessarily make it a weakness. Weaknesses can be at the bottom of your report, but they can also come from your top strengths.  Most strengths in overdrive start to show up as a weakness.

  • Your weakness can get in the way of your success, and you need to work on them so that they do not become a problem for you. Your weaknesses though are unlikely to ever become a core strength. You should spend more time developing and investing in your strengths but that doesn't mean ignoring your weaknesses.
